For over 100 years Surf Life Saving WA (SLSWA) has been involved in saving lives through prevention and rescue services along with community capacity building via education and training programs. SLSWA is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO: 51104), with an outstanding reputation for providing a first aid learning environment that encompasses exceptional teaching methods and resources. All courses are delivered with energy and enthusiasm to its members, various industry groups and members of the public.

Role Overview

The primary focus of this role is the delivery of First Aid and Emergency Response training to Surf Life Saving WA (SLSWA) customers and members, ensuring all delivery is conducted in a skilled manner that reflects the values and integrity of Surf Life Saving Western Australia.

In addition to delivering First Aid courses, the Officer will support the Training and Education team in the development, review, and improvement of SLSWA courses.

Position available at 0.8 - 1.0 FTE.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver First Aid and Emergency Response training to SLSWA customers.

- Assist with logistical requirements of training delivery including equipment and resources allocation.

- Assist with RTO administrative requirements for SLSWA accredited courses and awards.

- Support the review and development of SLSWA accredited courses.

- Assist with development and delivery of professional development sessions and in-services for SLSWA and partner trainers.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:





- Experience in delivery of nationally accredited Vocational Education and Training (VET) training, particularly First Aid units of competency.

- Ability to impart first aid knowledge and skills with enthusiasm.

- Competency in training and assessment practice.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse participants.

- Sound report writing and documentation skills.

- Proficiency with computers, internet, applications and databases

- Understanding of online learning platforms and digital training delivery

- Knowledge of workplace/commercial training delivery practices.

- Knowledge of current first aid protocols and industry best practices.

- TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or an equivalent qualification.

- First Aid accreditation for HLTAID009 to HLTAID015.
