Kascon is a Canberra builder specialising in high-end architectural homes, quality multi-residential developments and commercial fitouts across the inner suburbs. We're a tight-knit, hands-on team that takes genuine pride in craftsmanship — and we run our own joinery shop, which means the work we deliver (and the work you'll do) goes well beyond standard carpentry.
About the Role
This is a diverse, hands-on senior carpentry position for a tradesperson who can genuinely do it all. One week you might be setting out and installing cladding on an architecturally designed residence; the next, fabricating and fitting custom cabinetry through our in-house joinery shop. High-end architectural work demands an eye for detail, and that's exactly what we're after — someone who notices a 2mm gap and can't leave it alone.
Your responsibilities will include:
- All aspects of carpentry on architectural residential and commercial projects
- Fabrication and installation of custom cabinetry and joinery
- Structural and general carpentry tasks across our active jobs
- Reading and working from architectural drawings and joinery shop drawings
- Setting out work to fine tolerances and holding the finish standard our clients expect
- Mentoring apprentices and junior team members as a senior trade on site
- Working closely with site management to plan and sequence works
About You
- Trade-qualified carpenter (Cert III in Carpentry or equivalent) with post-qualification experience
- Demonstrated cabinetry/joinery capability — you can build it, not just install it
- A sharp eye for detail and genuine pride in your finish
- Experience on high-end residential or architectural projects highly regarded
- Energy, drive and a strong work ethic — we're a hard-working crew and we back each other
- Hungry to grow, take on responsibility and be challenged — this is not a role for someone looking for the easy route
- White card, driver's licence and own hand tools
Why Kascon
You'll work on interesting projects in Canberra — the kind of architectural builds that demand craftsmanship and reward it. You'll get variety most carpenters never see, moving between site work across the project cycle and custom joinery fabrication in our own shop. And you'll join an energetic, ambitious team on the way up: a no-passengers culture where performance is noticed, responsibility comes fast, and you'll have a genuine say in how we do things.
