Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Electrical Leading Hand to join their Switch rooms Division based at Ferryden Park, South Australia.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician with strong leadership skills to take the next step in their career. You will lead and support a team delivering high-quality electrical installations for switch room projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage first fix and second fix electrical installations within switch rooms.
- Ensure all electrical testing is completed safely and in accordance with relevant testing procedures and documentation.
- Prepare and issue Electrical Certificates of Compliance (ECOCs).
- Interpret engineering drawings and complete mark-ups where required.
- Maintain effective communication with the project team to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
- Supervise and assist contractors working on-site.
- Identify, communicate, and assist in resolving quality non-conformances with relevant stakeholders.
- Foster a positive learning environment and encourage continuous improvement within the team.
- Train, mentor, and supervise Electrical Apprentices.
- Promote and maintain safe work practices, ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and company procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A current Electrical Trade Qualification and unrestricted Electrical Licence.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical installation within industrial, commercial, or manufacturing environments.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team of electricians or apprentices.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and engineering drawings.
- Experience conducting electrical testing and completing associated documentation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and quality assurance.
- A robust commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on switch rooms, switchboards, substations, modular buildings, transformers, kiosks, or utility infrastructure projects.
- Experience preparing Electrical Certificates of Compliance (ECOCs).
- Current High Risk Work Licences (such as Forklift or EWP).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Leadership or supervisory training.
