St Mary's Anglican Girls' School is an independent day and boarding school for over 1500 girls from Kindergarten to Year 12. We provide girls with opportunities to pursue personal and academic excellence in a respectful and supportive environment.
St Mary's is entering an exciting new phase with the development of our state-of-the-art Science, Enterprise, Technology and Innovation (SETI) Centre, due for completion in mid-2027. This facility will bring together Science, Technology and Enterprise in a purpose-built learning precinct featuring four technology laboratories, an engineering lab, a prototyping station, a multi-level amphitheatre and industry-inspired collaboration spaces. The SETI Centre will provide exceptional opportunities to shape innovative programs, foster interdisciplinary learning and prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of an increasingly STEM-driven future.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Head of Digital Technologies, to commence January 2027. Reporting to the Deputy Principal (Studies), the Head of Digital Technologies leads and manages the Digital Technologies department, encompassing curriculum, pedagogy, and staffing.
The Digital Technologies Department provides students with a agile and future-focused learning experience, fostering creativity, innovation, problem-solving and entrepreneurial thinking.
The Digital Technologies Department offers the following programs:
- Western Australian curriculum to all students in Year 7 and 8.
- Innovative inquiry and activity-based programs in Year 9 (Digital Design and Innovation) and Year 10 (I Cubed).
- Engineering Studies and Technical Drawing electives are also offered in Years 9 to 10.
The department also plays a key role in supporting digital literacy across the curriculum through cross-curricular collaboration and curriculum mapping.
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and experienced educator with a love of Digital Technologies and the ability to effectively lead a department. Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Promote effective instructional practices and communication that support high impact instruction using research based, data driven practices with effective consultation and program evaluation.
- Lead and manage to successfully progress the vision and strategy for the department.
- Build upon a high functioning team, providing guidance as required, promoting staff development, and fostering team collaboration.
Essential qualifications and experience for this role include:
- Relevant tertiary degree and teaching qualifications.
- Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
- Ability to provide a stimulating learning environment, effective teaching and exemplary assessment practices.
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, the ability to work productively in a busy environment, and extensive teaching experience are all pre-requisites for this fulltime ongoing role.
