Profectus is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support the design, integration, and delivery of technical capability of a major Australian Government project. Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will architect, build, and transition hardware, software, and system components into secure environments. This is an prospect to apply your architecture expertise on nationally significant work, delivering solutions where security, reliability, and technical governance are essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport executive decision making with subject matter expertise, including the production of option sets alongside engineering teamsAssess current-state capability and future-state objectives using authoritative information sources and referencesDevelop architecture and design artefacts in line with Defence documentation requirements, including System Architecture Descriptions, System Overview Documents, and High Level and Detailed DesignsIdentify technical sources of risk and apply approved Defence processes for formal reporting, assessment, and treatment within delegated authorityEngage across Defence to facilitate architecture, hardware, and software acceptance into service, including required approvals, purchases, connections, and installationsContribute to the implementation and configuration of ICT hardware and software, and provide troubleshooting and support to operational teams where requiredApply ITIL service management principles, including participation in Change Advisory Boards, implementation of approved changes,



and use of service management toolsets for tasking and schedulingHandle classified information in accordance with Commonwealth policy, including the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM)Protect Commonwealth Intellectual Property and uphold Defence international obligations, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements
Required ExperienceA tertiary degree and/or vocational qualifications in an IT or Engineering discipline10+ years of IT industry experience, military experience, or a combination of bothDemonstrated experience in IT system architecture, development, and integration within Defence or similarly secure environmentsProven ability to lead complex technical projects involving software, hardware, and emerging technologiesDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical peers and IT leadershipAn unrestricted ability to deploy to Australian Defence Force (ADF) military installations in support of activities and events
Desirable ExperienceExperience with Defence systems and synthetic environmentsFamiliarity with Defence technical governance and regulatory standards
