Gym Receptionist / Member Consultant

Ironforge Fitness is looking for a confident, reliable and well-presented Gym Receptionist / Member Consultant to join our Blackburn team.

This is more than a traditional front-desk position. You will be one of the first people our members and guests meet, so we need someone who can create an outstanding first impression, deliver excellent customer service and confidently assist with membership enquiries, gym tours and sign-ups.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Welcoming members and guests in a friendly and qualified manner
- Managing front-desk enquiries in person, over the phone and online
- Responding promptly and professionally to prospective members
- Conducting gym tours and explaining our membership options
- Assisting with membership applications, sign-ups and general account enquiries
- Following up membership leads and helping convert enquiries into new members
- Managing bookings, member records and basic administrative tasks
- Supporting member communications, club promotions and retention activities
- Keeping the reception area clean, organized and presentable
- Assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the gym

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this position, you will need:





- At least one year of experience in customer service, reception, retail, hospitality or sales
- Full Australian working rights
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly, confident and professional manner
- Excellent reliability, punctuality and personal presentation
- Confidence speaking with new people and handling membership enquiries
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer and administrative skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A genuine interest in helping members have a positive experience

We are looking for someone who notices what needs to be done and takes action without always needing to be asked.

Highly Regarded

The following experience would be an advantage:

- Previous experience in a gym, fitness or membership-based business
- Membership sales or customer conversion experience
- Confidence conducting gym tours and discussing membership options
- Experience following up sales leads by phone, email or social media
- Social media, photography or content-creation skills
- Familiarity with gym membership or customer management systems

Hours and Availability

This is a Part Time position offering approximately 12 to 20 hours per week.

Most shifts are approximately four hours and may be rostered across the following times:

Monday to Friday

- 9:00am–1:00pm
- 1:00pm–5:00pm
- 5:00pm–9:00pm

Saturday and Sunday

- 10:00am–2:00pm

Applicants must have genuine, ongoing availability for at least three shifts per week.

Evening and weekend availability will be highly regarded. Please provide your exact weekly availability when applying.
