The Role

We are partnering with a global financial services organisation to appoint a skilled Compliance Specialist with proven AML expertise. This is a hands‑on financial crime role at the heart of the regional compliance function, covering the Australia and New Zealand business.

You will take real ownership of the AML/CFT framework, acting as a trusted advisor to the business and a key point of contact for regulators across Australia and Recent Zealand. The role carries genuine responsibility, with direct engagement with senior stakeholders and regulators, backed by a supportive leadership team and a business that invests in its people.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the Australian and New Zealand entities
- Provide sound, independent AML and compliance advice, including support on client acceptance decisions
- Liaise with key regulators, including AUSTRAC, DIA, and FMA
- Carry out AML/CFT monitoring, including client reviews, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity clearance, and thematic reviews




- Deliver AML/CFT training and inductions to new and existing staff
- Support internal audit inspections and conduct compliance investigations into incidents or complaints
- Prepare explicit compliance reports and management information
- Contribute to ad hoc AML and compliance projects as they arise

About You

- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a compliance or financial crime role within financial services
- Strong, practical knowledge of AML regulations across Australia and New Zealand
- A proven track record of engaging with regulators such as AUSTRAC, DIA, or FMA
- Solid experience managing and implementing risk and compliance frameworks
- A degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred
- ACAMS or an equivalent AML qualification is highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels
