Senior Accountant – Business Services - Wollongong
The Opportunity
My client is a well-established and growing accounting and business advisory firm in Wollongong. They are looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to take ownership of a client portfolio and play a key role within the wider team. This is a highly client-focused position, offering the opportunity to work across accounting, taxation and broader business advisory while developing genuine long-term relationships with clients.

About the Role
You will take ownership of your own client portfolio, acting as a trusted point of contact and providing a combination of compliance, taxation and advisory services.
The role offers significant client interaction and the prospect to become involved in broader business matters including planning, structuring, forecasting and succession.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing your own portfolio of clients across a range of industries
- Acting as the key point of contact and developing strong, long-term client relationships
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns
- Providing taxation and business advisory support
- Assisting clients with business and tax planning, structuring and succession matters
- Providing advice around forecasting, cash flow and business performance
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing guidance and mentoring
- Managing workflows, deadlines and client deliverables
- Working closely with Directors and Managers on more complex client matters
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 4+ years of Australian public practice experience
- Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge
- Experience managing your own client portfolio
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification
- A genuine interest in business advisory and client-facing work
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A positive, collaborative personality and willingness to contribute to the wider team
