- 12-month fixed-term contract with potential to transition to permanent
- CBD location | Flexible hybrid working (2 days in office)

The Prospect

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a high-growth, global software business during an important period of payroll transformation.

The organisation currently operates across multiple entities, with payroll processes managed through a combination of legacy systems, offshore support and varying approaches across individual operating companies. This newly created role will take ownership of payroll across ANZ, with a key focus on consistency, compliance, process improvement and scalability.

Supporting approximately 650 employees across Australia and New Zealand, you will become the key payroll contact for the region.

The Challenge

Reporting to the regional Australian Finance team, with a dotted line to the global Payroll Lead, your key responsibilities will include:

- Overseeing payroll activities across multiple entities, pay cycles, frequencies and systems.
- Acting as the go‑to payroll specialist for ANZ, providing guidance across payroll compliance, superannuation, taxation and governance.
- Reviewing and standardising existing payroll processes to improve consistency, accuracy and scalability.

- Supporting the transition to a more structured outsourced payroll model.
- Contributing to payroll systems and transformation projects.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation and stronger payroll controls.
- Supporting the continued growth of the business, including potential expansion into Asia.

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

- 5+ years of hands‑on Australian payroll processing experience, ideally across a multi‑entity or complex payroll environment.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation, taxation and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements and standardisation.
- Experience working across multiple payroll systems, with exposure to Xero, ADP or other cloud‑based payroll platforms advantageous.
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of payroll across a region, while collaborating with global stakeholders.
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach and an interest in payroll transformation, outsourcing and scalable processes.
