Chompers Paediatric Dental is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our specialist paediatric clinic in Kenmore, QLD. This is a part-time position offering flexible hours to support our team in delivering exceptional dental care to children. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, supporting our dental practitioners, and creating a welcoming environment for our young patients and their families. This role is essential to the success of our clinic and directly contributes to our mission of providing outstanding paediatric dental services.
Key responsibilities
Assisting dental practitioners during clinical procedures, including patient preparation and instrument sterilisation
Welcoming patients and families, managing reception duties, and maintaining a calm, friendly clinic atmosphere
Recording patient information accurately and maintaining detailed clinical notes
Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring all equipment and materials are ready for procedures
Following infection control and safety protocols to maintain the highest standards of hygiene
Providing chairside support during examinations, treatments and preventative procedures
Scheduling appointments and managing patient bookings efficiently
Assisting with sterilisation and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment
Supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks as required
What we're looking for
Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting is highly regarded. However those interested in undertaking Cert 3 training should also apply.
Experience working in a dental practice, preferably in a paediatric or specialist setting
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children and families
Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail
A commitment to infection control and health and safety standards
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a clinical team
A genuine passion for paediatric dental care and contributing to positive patient outcomes
Proficiency with dental practice management software is desirable
