This is a Part-Time position in a fast-paced, acute care environment, where you will assess and manage patients presenting with urgent and complex eye conditions. You will be required to work in a clinically confident capacity, often independently, making confident clinical decisions in a time-sensitive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients presenting with urgent and complex eye conditions
- Diagnose and manage ocular pathology and acute presentations
- Make confident clinical decisions in a time-sensitive environment
- Explain clinical findings and treatment plans to patients
- Manage patients through initial assessment, management and follow-up
- Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of clinical care
- Work autonomously while collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals
About you
- Current AHPRA registration as a Therapeutic Optometrist
- Strong clinical experience and a high level of attention to detail
- Extensive exposure to ocular pathology and acute presentations
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
- Confidence managing patients in a fast-paced setting
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong patient-centred care experience
- Professional, empathetic and reassuring manner with patients
- Open to flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
