We are seeking a passionate and community-minded Regional Aboriginal Landcare Coordinator to help strengthen relationships between Landcare groups and Aboriginal communities across the Central West. This role is part of the Aboriginal Partnerships Program and will focus on building meaningful connections, supporting culturally responsive land management practices, and increasing Aboriginal participation and leadership within Landcare initiatives. You will work collaboratively with local Aboriginal communities, Landcare groups, landholders, volunteers and government stakeholders to support projects that respect and embed Aboriginal cultural knowledge and practices.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain robust relationships with Aboriginal communities and organisations across the region.
- Support Local Landcare Groups to engage respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal communities.
- Identify opportunities for cooperative land management projects and activities.
- Promote and share Aboriginal cultural knowledge and practices within Landcare programs.
- Facilitate communication between Landcare groups, Aboriginal communities and other stakeholders.
- Support culturally responsive program design and delivery.
- Participate in Aboriginal Landcare Community of Practice activities and professional development opportunities.
- Monitor,
evaluate and report on project outcomes and community engagement activities.
- Contribute to regional Landcare priorities in collaboration with the Regional Landcare Coordinator.

- Has strong connections with Aboriginal communities and a sound understanding of Aboriginal cultural knowledge and practices.
- Builds positive relationships and works effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Has excellent communication, engagement and facilitation skills.
- Is organised, self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities.
- Has an interest in environmental management, sustainable agriculture and caring for Country.
- Enjoys working independently while also contributing to a broader team and network.
- Is willing to travel throughout the Central West region and occasionally stay overnight when required.
