Urgent Care Clinical & Operations Leader
If you're an experienced Clinical Leader whose career has been in ED, Urgent Care or Remote Nursing, then this is your chance to lead a busy, community-based Urgent Care Clinic while keeping your hands firmly on clinical practice. As the Urgent Care Clinical Coordinator you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the service - patient flow, workforce planning, clinical quality and safety, and service improvement - while leading a multidisciplinary team of GPs, RNs and reception staff.
What makes this role stand out is the balance: genuine leadership responsibility without stepping away from the clinical work you're passionate about, without the shift work. This is a full-time fixed term role util 2028, Monday to Friday role with no night shifts and a monthly accrued day off. About the day to day - Urgent Care Clinical Coordinator:
- Clinical Leadership: maintain a hands-on clinical presence while overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Urgent Care Clinic.
- Team Leadership: lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary team of GPs, RNs and reception staff.
- Workforce Planning: oversee recruitment, rostering and staff development to keep the service running smoothly.
- Patient Flow & Quality: drive service efficiency, clinical governance and quality outcomes across the clinic.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
build strong relationships with local healthcare providers and community stakeholders.
- Safety & Governance: oversee clinical quality, safety and client experience, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Financial Oversight: contribute to service budgets and proactively manage performance against financial and operational targets.
About You:
- Experienced Leader: you've worked in a senior nursing leadership role such as NUM, ANUM, Clinical Coordinator or Team Leader.
- Clinically Skilled: you bring experience in Emergency, Urgent Care, Primary Care or remote area nursing, with strong triage skills.
- Autonomous & Confident: you're comfortable working independently and leading a multidisciplinary team through busy periods.
- A Strong Communicator: you build relationships easily and manage stakeholders with confidence.
- Patient-Focused: you're passionate about patient-centred care and genuinely invested in developing your team.
- Qualified: you hold a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and current, unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Div 1).
