Support Worker - Gold Coast Residential AOD Mirikai
Located in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, Mirikai is one of Queensland's leading residential alcohol and other drug treatment services. Supporting people through withdrawal and recovery, Mirikai provides a structured, therapeutic environment where clients can focus on rebuilding their lives and working towards lasting change.
At Lives Lived Well, we've been supporting people impacted by alcohol and other drugs for over 50 years. We also provide services for mental health, gambling concerns, veterans' wellbeing, and people transitioning from correctional centres. We are seeking Casual Support Workers to join our team at Mirikai.
This role plays an important part in maintaining a protected, supportive and recovery-focused environment for residents participating in our treatment program. A key focus of the position is providing support during evening, overnight and sleepover shifts, ensuring residents feel safe, supported and connected outside of standard business hours.
You'll work closely with residents throughout their recovery journey, supporting day-to-day program activities, providing practical assistance and maintaining a positive therapeutic environment within the residential community.
This is a role where you'll see the impact of your work every day. You'll support people as they develop new skills, overcome challenges and work towards meaningful change,
while being part of a team that genuinely cares about the people we support and each other.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for people who are passionate about supporting others, comfortable working independently, and able to provide a calm and supportive presence during overnight shifts.
You'll also bring:
- Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, Community Services or a related field, or be working towards or willing to obtain one.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, overnight sleepover shifts, weekends and public holidays.
- Confidence working independently and making sound decisions when working overnight.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to remain calm,
professional and solution-focused in challenging situations.
- Strong written and computer skills, including client documentation and handovers.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, alcohol and other drug treatment and recovery.
- A commitment to professional boundaries, teamwork and continuous learning.
You will also hold:
- A current Australian Driver Licence.
- A Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
