Our technology combines connected devices, cloud platforms, analytics and software products to help customers make better decisions about water use and sustainability.
We're a high-performing, intelligent and innovative organisation that values collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement. As we continue to grow, quality engineering remains critical to ensuring our products are reliable, scalable and trusted by our customers.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our Software Engineering team and contribute to the quality of our SaaS IoT platform, web and mobile applications, and visualisation and analytics products.
Reporting to the Lead QA Engineer, you'll work closely with Product Managers, Software Developers, Hardware Engineers and our IT SaaS team to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
This is a junior to intermediate level role suited to someone with existing commercial testing experience who is ready to further develop their technical skills and broaden their QA expertise.
We'll provide product onboarding, mentoring and support, but you'll be expected to contribute from day one by executing testing activities, identifying risks, communicating defects effectively and taking ownership of assigned testing areas.
What You'll Do
Test Early and Collaboratively
- Review requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria to identify risks, gaps and test scenarios.
- Work closely with product and development teams to build quality into solutions from the beginning.
Deliver Effective Test Coverage
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases and regression suites.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, exploratory and end-to-end testing.
- Validate features across web, mobile, API and backend systems.
Investigate and Report Defects
- Raise high-quality defects with clear reproduction steps, supporting evidence and business impact.
- Verify fixes and ensure defects are appropriately resolved.
Go Beyond the User Interface
- Test RESTful APIs and microservices using tools such as Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Use SQL and observability tools to validate data, investigate issues and support root cause analysis.
Contribute to Agile Delivery
- Participate in sprint planning, refinement sessions, stand-ups, retrospectives and release activities.
- Partner with the Lead QA Engineer to prioritise testing based on risk, customer impact and delivery timelines.
- Support test data management and testing environments across local and AWS-hosted platforms.
Continuously Improve
- Assist with post-release reviews and defect analysis.
- Help improve test coverage, testing processes and quality outcomes.
- Use AI-assisted tools responsibly to enhance test design, documentation and analysis while applying sound QA judgement.
About You
You enjoy solving problems, have a keen eye for detail and take pride in delivering high-quality software. You're curious, proactive and comfortable working within a collaborative Agile environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Approximately 2-4 years' software testing experience, or equivalent hands‑on QA experience.
- Experience performing functional, regression, integration and system testing within Agile teams.
