A well-establishedvolume residential developer-builderwith a strong pipeline of residential projects across Sydney is looking for a Senior Designer / Draftsperson to join its team.
About the Role
This is a hands-on senior design and drafting position for someone who can independently manage the design and documentation process.
You'll work closely with senior management, construction, estimating and procurement teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant and construction-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and independently manage residential design and drafting work
- Produce detailed construction and working drawings
- Develop and amend architectural documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate designs with structural, civil and other consultants
- Review designs for buildability, cost and construction requirements
- Ensure documentation complies with NCC, Australian Standards and planning requirements
- Assist with design development and value engineering
- Coordinate design changes and documentation revisionsWork closely with estimating,
procurement and construction teams
- Liaise with consultants, councils and relevant authorities where required
About You
- Robust experience as a Designer, Draftsperson or Architectural Draftsperson
- Extensive residential construction experience, ideally with a volume residential builder/developer
- Strong proficiency in relevant design and drafting software
- Able to independently manage projects from design development through to construction documentation
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, detailing and buildability
- Good knowledge of NCC and Australian Standards
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Commercially aware with an understanding of construction costs and practical design
