The Opportunity
Are you passionate about the power of sport to create lasting community impact? As the Olympics Project Officer, you will help prepare Noosa for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and legacy-focused initiatives. Working across Council, government, sporting organisations and the community, you'll play a key role in maximising opportunities and delivering lasting benefits for the Noosa Shire.

- $50,894 Base annual salary (pro-rata)
- $57,768 Total Remuneration Package which is based on a full time employee and inclusive of 12% Employer superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.

About You
You are a proactive and collaborative professional with experience in sport, recreation, project management or community development. A strong communicator and relationship builder, you enjoy working with diverse stakeholders to deliver meaningful community outcomes. You thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing strategic thinking and planning with practical project delivery to create lasting community impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and development of Noosa Council’s Olympic and Paralympic readiness and legacy planning for Brisbane 2032
- Build and maintain robust partnerships with internal departments, government agencies, sporting organisations, community groups and key stakeholders
- Identify and deliver opportunities that maximise community benefits, participation and legacy outcomes
- Provide strategic advice and support across all Council departments and functions, while contributing to sport, recreation and infrastructure projects that enhance community wellbeing and prepare Noosa for Brisbane 2032
Skills and Experience
- Experience in, or an understanding of, strategic readiness and legacy planning, with the ability to help position Council to maximise opportunities arising from the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games
- Strong stakeholder engagement and consultation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across council, government agencies, sporting organisations and community groups
- Experience in identifying grant funding opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, to achieve community and organisational outcomes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences, lead meaningful consultation processes, and gain support for strategic initiatives
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that deliver long-term community and legacy outcomes
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity and deliver results across multiple projects
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Sport and Recreation, Project or Event Management, Business Management, Community Development, or a related discipline; alternatively, substantial demonstrated experience delivering projects within the sport, infrastructure or community sectors
- Current Queensland Blue Card
- Current C Class Driver Licence
