Job Description

About the role

Join the team that keeps Australia's gateway airport operating safely and efficiently. As an Electrical Technician at Sydney Airport, you'll play a critical role maintaining and improving the electrical infrastructure that supports millions of passengers, airlines and airport partners every year. Working across a dynamic and complex environment, no two days are the same.

In this role you will have the opportunity to

- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment according to relevant codes and regulations
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to ensure proper installation and maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify and troubleshoot issues




- Utilize electrical testing equipment and tools to diagnose and resolve faults
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures when working with electrical systems
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed
- Collaborate with other technicians and professionals to coordinate electrical projects and tasks
- Work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, working either day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, including weekends as required to support airport operations
- Cover for leave or other absences, you'll work a standard 4-day schedule (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) to assist with general maintenance, preventative works, and project support across the airport

About you

- Proven knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and blueprints
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and safety awareness
- Relevant experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting
- Vocational training or apprenticeship in electrical technology, or a relevant diploma or certificate
- Electrician's license or certification may be required
- Familiarity with local electrical codes and regulations
