The opportunity

We are in the market for a highly skilled and motivated ProjectManager Design and Construction to manage the City’s in-houseannual civil capital works projects and provide project managementservices.

Reporting to the Manager Technical Services, this role will beresponsible for managing civil projects, including:

- Assisting the Coordinators for Engineering Services, DesignServices, Survey Services and City Construction to organise thedesign process from concept schematic drawings through toready-for-construction documentation
- Providing quality infrastructure project managementservices to the organisation, including timely and budgetsensitive delivery of key capital works and investigationprojects
- Effectively managing capital investment works projects byfacilitating multi-disciplinary teams and providing advice onstrategic commercial and project issues
- Actively managing project and contractual risks andcompliance, and preparing project risk registers with clearmitigation plans
- Facilitating the procurement and contract awarding process;and
- Ensuring programmed targets and budgets are met.

To be successful in this role, you willneed:

- A degree qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g.Engineering or Construction)
- Recognition by The Institution of Engineers Australia as aprofessional Engineer
- A minimum five (5) years of relevant experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of contracts,



contract law andproject management principles
- Thorough knowledge of the project management process fromclient brief to project hand over.
- Sound current knowledge of civil constructionmethods/techniques, utilities, all services and equipment
- Sound knowledge of the civil approval process, regulatoryauthorities, procedures, codes and regulations
- Current unrestricted ‘C’ class national driver’slicence.

- *The salary for this role commences at step 1, withpotential for movement within the range based on demonstratedskills and experience. Incremental progression typically occursat the conclusion of each 12-month period, in accordance withthe Industrial Agreement.
