The Role

The position will involve a combination of:

Group and corporate accounting

Public practice accounting and client work

Review, staff support and practice management

The exact mix will vary throughout the year, particularly around quarterly and financial reporting periods.

Coordination of financial and other information with property managers

Oversight of shareholder registry and related administrative requirements

Assistance with announcements and reporting requirements for relevant securities markets

Other Australian accounting and reporting matters as required

Routine administrative, bookkeeping and transactional work is supported by our existing bookkeeping and administration team, allowing you to concentrate on the accounting and reporting aspects of the role.

Public Practice Accounting

You will also work with a varied portfolio of business clients, including:

Preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns

Companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

Tax planning and general taxation advice

Complex accounting and taxation matters

Direct client contact and advice

Practice Management

As one of the senior members of the practice, you will also assist with:

Supporting other accountants

Assisting with technical queries

Monitoring workflow and deadlines

Resolving day-to-day accounting and client matters

Assisting the Principal with the general operation of the accounting team

This is not a full-time management position. The majority of your time will remain focused on accounting, financial reporting and client work.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Strong Australian public practice accounting experience

CA or CPA qualification

Demonstrated experience with multi-entity group accounting and consolidations

Experience with listed or other significant corporate clients and their reporting requirements

Good knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards

Experience with complex corporate and group structures

The ability to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The ability to liaise confidently with clients, auditors and other stakeholders

Positive organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines

The ability to review and support the work of other team members

Experience with securities market reporting requirements would be highly regarded.

What We Offer

$125,000 – $145,000 + super , depending on experience

A senior position with significant autonomy

An interesting mix of public practice and corporate group accounting

Exposure to listed-company and international group structures

Support from existing bookkeeping and administration staff for routine work

An established and varied client base
