Lead AMCRC’s microcredential program and help build Australia’s additive manufacturing workforce capability
Additive Manufacturing CRC (AMCRC) is seeking an experienced Education & Training Manager to lead the development and delivery of an industry focused Microcredential Program, translating additive manufacturing knowledge, industry needs and research outcomes into practical education offerings which support workforce capability uplift across Australian industry.
With an initial focus on developing an aligned framework of a suitable range of digitalized and hybrid microcredential content, articulating and delivering needs and outcomes, the role encompasses delivery, workshops, webinars and other learning activities.
This role requires someone who can think strategically, work comfortably with senior stakeholders and technical experts, and also be willing to get hands‑on to coordinate, codesign and curate content, delivery, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Who are we?
AMCRC operates in the context of the Australian Government’s Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) Program and is federally funded to accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing across Australian manufacturing.
Working with industry, researchers, government and training providers, we invest in collaborative R&D;, workforce development and innovation to improve the competitiveness, productivity and sustainability of Australian manufacturing.
By supporting industry‑led projects and developing future capability in line with priorities in key growth sectors, AMCRC is helping build a nationally connected additive manufacturing ecosystem that enables Australian businesses – particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) – to innovate, grow and compete globally.
We:
- Deliver uplift to Australia’s additive manufacturing sector by supporting commercially focused, outcomes‑driven research projects.
- Invest in and support our research and industry partners.
- Create high‑value manufacturing opportunities in Australia.
- Develop an educational and professional framework to support and boost technology adoption.
- Promote a unified message of deep collaboration across government, public research institutions, and industry.
We’re a small, passionate team working nationally to support collaborative research, education and industry engagement that will strengthen Australia’s manufacturing future.
About the Role
The Education & Training Manager AM Microcredentials leads and coordinates the design, development and delivery of AMCRC’s Microcredential Program.
Working closely with the Research Director, Managing Director, COO, Marketing, research program leads, Research Partners, Industry Partners and education stakeholders, the role translates identified capability needs into structured, stackable microcredential offerings.
A key part of the role is leading and aligning input from AMCRC’s Industry and Research Partners.
Listening to the voice of industry, you bring together subject matter experts, researchers, educators and industry representatives, corral the effort into practical education outputs, and ensure the resulting activities connect across AMCRC’s Education & Training Program.
The role has a strong initial focus on codesign of content created by industry and discipline experts, learning pathway structure and online delivery. It will also support alignment with AMCRC’s Sustainable Manufacturing objectives, including sustainability, digital strategies, communities of practice and adoption pathways for additive manufacturing as well as other Research Program areas.
The program also incorporates AMCRC research project outcomes as case studies and practical examples, demonstrating how additive manufacturing and collaborative research can solve industry challenges and create opportunities for Australian industry.
What you will need to achieve
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Build and deliver a focused portfolio of industry‑aligned additive manufacturing microcredentials.
- Review AMCRC’s existing capability assessment work and translate it into practical education priorities.
- Codesign structured, stackable learning modules that are clear, relevant and aligned with industry capability needs.
- Ensure microcredential content aligns with the Federal Government’s National Microcredentials Framework.
- Work with Research Partners and subject matter experts to define content, learning outcomes, assessment approaches and delivery models.
- Connect microcredential activity with the broader Education & Training Program, including VET awareness, HDR participant support and relevant industry learning activities.
- Ensure education content reflects AMCRC’s research programs, especially Sustainable Manufacturing objectives.
- Coordinate online delivery and support future workshops, webinars or other learning formats, including international partners in Asia, USA & Europe as required.
- Track participation, completion, feedback, outcomes and evidence of capability development, including certificates and quality management.
- Support Commonwealth reporting, internal governance and AMCRC education milestones.
- Drive continuous improvement based on stakeholder input, participant feedback and program outcomes.
What you bring in your attitude and expertise
Microcredential and learning design
You bring experience in developing technical education, microcredentials, professional learning, training programs or structured learning pathways. You understand how to work with experts to turn complex technical content into clear learning outcomes, practical modules and assessable learning.
Stakeholder leadership and facilitation
You are confident working with Research Partners, Industry Partners, universities, TAFEs, VET providers,
professional bodies and technical experts in Australia and overseas. You can lead or facilitate conversations, align competing views, build momentum and ensure stakeholders contribute to clear education outcomes.
Program coordination and delivery

Education strategy and program alignment
You understand how individual education activities need to connect into a broader program. You ensure AMCRC’s microcredential work supports industry capability uplift, research translation, Sustainable Manufacturing objectives, VET awareness, HDR‑related outcomes and Commonwealth Agreement deliverables.
Technical curiosity and industry relevance
You don't need to be an additive manufacturing expert, however some experience and basic understanding of the manufacturing industry is welcome and you will demonstrate focused curiosity and strong learning abilities, displaying confidence in technical environments. You can quickly apply how education supports industry adoption in emerging technologies.
You are credible, organised, commercially aware and resilient. You are comfortable working in a small, outcomes‑focused team where priorities can shift and where the role requires both leadership and hands‑on delivery.

- Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and delivery expectations.
- Confidence working in a technical, research or industry‑facing workplace.
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in education, training, workforce development, research translation or a related field.
Highly regarded
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, engineering, digital manufacturing or sustainable manufacturing.
- Higher education, TAFE/VET, RTOs, universities or professional education environments.
- Research, university or collaborative research programs.
- Workforce development or industry capability uplift.
- Commonwealth‑funded programs, CRCs or government reporting environments.
- Working with industry bodies, skilled associations or technical standards organisations.
Additional Information
The role may involve local and interstate travel for AMCRC activities, stakeholder engagement, partner meetings and industry events.
Flexible working arrangements may be considered, including full‑time or 0.8 FTE with minimum 3 days/week in office.
