Motel manager (Sponsorship available for the right candidate)

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Motel Manager to lead operations at our motel (15 rooms) in Phillip Island, Victoria. This is a full-time live-on-site position offering an exciting chance to manage a hospitality business and drive operational excellence. As Motel Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of day-to-day operations, staff management, guest services, and financial performance. This role is integral to ensuring our guests enjoy exceptional experiences whilst maintaining profitability and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities

- Oversee all daily motel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance and guest services
- Manage staff recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management to ensure a highly motivated and professional team
- Ensure excellent guest experiences and handle guest complaints and concerns with professionalism and efficiency
- Monitor and maintain occupancy rates, revenue targets and financial performance
- Manage budgets, control costs and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards, as well as relevant legislation and regulations
- Maintain and upgrade facilities and equipment, coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase visibility and bookings
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to secure quality products and services at competitive rates
- Maintain detailed records of operations, finances and guest feedback




- Represent the motel professionally with local businesses, tourism boards and community organisations

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience in motel or hotel management, ideally within a similar-sized establishment
- Strong knowledge of hospitality operations, guest services and industry best practices
- Excellent leadership and staff management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Solid understanding of financial management, budgeting and revenue control
- Outstanding customer service skills and a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction
- Proficiency with hotel management systems and point-of-sale software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently, make sound decisions and manage multiple priorities
- Attention to detail and organisational skills
- Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications (preferred)
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Multilingual (especially fluent Mandarin) will definitely be an advantage.
