Role Description
The Duty Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Brisbane Airport, QLD, overseeing operations across the hotel outlets and the Conference Centre. This position coordinates service teams, bar operations, and events, ensuring high-quality guest experiences and consistent service standards. The Duty Manager manages staff allocation, supervises opening and closing procedures, monitors stock and presentation, and supports the delivery of conferences and banquets. The role involves responding to guest feedback, resolving service issues, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, and collaborating with F&B; and front office teams. The Duty Manager also assists with training, coaching, and motivating team members, and contributes to rostering, basic reporting, and implementation of promotions and brand standards.
Duties
- Coordinate internal departments (F&B;, AV, housekeeping, room service, front office, etc.) to deliver smooth operations.
- Overseeing security measures as well as the maintenance of overall property facilities.
- Control purchasing, inventory management, budgeting and financial reporting.

- Review guest feedback, handle complaints, and implement service improvements to increase customer satisfaction.
- Ensure workplace health and safety standards are followed at all times, as well as liquor and other regulations.
- Manage staff performance, roster and training.
Qualifications
- Strong service and supervision skills, with experience in restaurant, bar,
and conference/banquet operations.
- Proven people leadership abilities, including team coordination, coaching, and performance feedback in a hospitality environment.
- Solid customer service and guest relations skills, with the ability to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive guest experiences.
- Operational and organizational skills, including shift management, cash handling, stock control, and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of food safety, responsible service of alcohol (RSA), and workplace health and safety requirements; relevant certifications highly regarded.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Previous experience in hotel venue management or senior supervisory roles preferred..
