About the role

You will be involved in:





- Preparing and producing high-quality food

- Running organised and efficient services

- Maintaining consistency in taste, presentation and portion sizes

- Planning daily preparation and ensuring the kitchen is ready for service

- Developing specials and contributing new menu ideas

- Managing stock, ordering and rotation

- Reducing waste and helping control food costs

- Maintaining excellent food-safety and cleanliness standards

- Supporting, training and leading kitchen staff

- Communicating clearly with front-of-house and management

- Identifying problems early and helping create practical solutions

About you

- Is passionate about cooking and genuinely enjoys being in the kitchen

- Takes initiative and does not wait to be told every task

- Enjoys experimenting with recent flavours, dishes and specials

- Can follow existing recipes while also suggesting improvements

- Is organised, reliable and able to think ahead

- Stays calm and focused during busy services

- Understands food costs, portion control and waste reduction

- Communicates respectfully and works well with others

- Leads by example and supports less-experienced staff

- Takes responsibility and looks for solutions

- Maintains high standards of cleanliness and food safety

- Wants to grow with the restaurant and help build something special

Experience with Lebanese, Mediterranean or Middle Eastern food would be an advantage, but it is not essential. We value passion, reliability, leadership and the right attitude.

Moons is a Lebanese and Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and bar located in the heart of Lithgow.

Our goal is to create a warm and welcoming place where locals and visitors can come together over great food, drinks and genuine hospitality.

We have built a strong local following and are now looking for the right chef to help us improve, grow and take the kitchen to its next stage.
