The role

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for leading maintenance planning, scheduling and work management processes to ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of production lines, utilities and site infrastructure at the Minto Ice Cream Factory. Reporting to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager, the role is accountable for SAP S/4HANA PM governance, maintenance planning excellence, PM compliance, shutdown planning, spare parts coordination and maintenance performance reporting. This is a 12 month fixed term contract commencing in NOVEMBER 2026

What you'll be responsible for

- Execute the weekly maintenance planning routine including tasks prioritisation, maintenance shutdowns scheduling.
- Own the end-to-end maintenance planning and scheduling process for all production lines, utilities and site services.
- Develop weekly, monthly and annual maintenance schedules to optimise maintenance resources and production availability.
- Coordinate all maintenance activities through SAP S/4HANA PM and ensure adherence to global TMICC maintenance standards.
- Maintain equipment master data, functional locations, maintenance plans, task lists and BOMs within SAP PM.
- Ensure all work orders are correctly prioritised, planned, scheduled, executed, technically completed and closed on time.
- Monitor maintenance backlog and drive closure compliance through robust governance routines.
- Prepare comprehensive maintenance work packs including procedures, permits, parts, tools, labour and contractor requirements.
- Coordinate annual overhauls, planned shutdowns and major maintenance campaigns.




- Drive PM compliance and optimise preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Track and manage corrective actions from RCA investigations, audits, breakdown reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead maintenance KPI reporting includes PM Compliance, Schedule Compliance, MTBF, MTTR, Backlog and Work Order Closure.
- Partner with Engineering Stores to improve spare parts governance, cycle counting, stock accuracy and critical spare availability.
- Coordinate contractors and external service providers ensuring safety, quality and cost compliance.
- Maintain calibration schedules and statutory compliance requirements.
- Provide SAP PM training and coaching for maintenance technicians and supervisors.
- Support ICMS PM Pillar deployment, loss elimination activities and reliability improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with SHE, GMP, Food Safety, Quality and TMICC Engineering standards.
- Coordinate 3rd party maintenance service providers to ensure high quality of service.
- Ensures the engineering maintenance team operates as part of a multi-functional site team with clear and open communication to the Engineering Team and our stakeholders through meeting routines.
- Support continuous improvement to optimise preventive maintenance routines.
- Provide training and technical advice and support on SAP PM.
- Work with engineering storeman for cycle counts.
- Coordinate and plan maintenance activities using SAP PM.
- Manage end-to-end work order management system.
- Understand and effectively manage Enterprise Agreement (EA) requirements, union matters and employee relations impacts within the maintenance function, partnering with HR and site leadership to ensure compliant, fair and constructive workforce engagement.

We're looking for someone who

- Has 3-7 years experience in Maintenance Planning, Reliability Engineering or Maintenance Management within FMCG, food, dairy, beverage or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Degree or diploma qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong SAP PM or SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in maintenance planning, scheduling and work management processes.




- Understanding of preventive, predictive and reliability‑centred maintenance principles.
- Experience with MRO inventory management, spare parts governance and stores processes.
- Robust analytical skills with ability to interpret maintenance KPIs and drive improvement actions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and maintenance reporting capabilities.
- Experience coordinating contractors, shutdowns and major maintenance activities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage competing priorities.
- Values safety, continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence.
- Eager to Lead and Develop AI Skills and understand AI tools.
