Essential Flavours are seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to support the business with GMP compliance with SQF, ISO, FSANZ, and other relevant standards by leading quality assurance and food safety systems. The Quality Assurance Officer will support internal and external audits, enhance product integrity, and collaborate with teams to uphold quality standards.

Key responsibilities

- Ensure compliance of the Quality Management and food safety systems to the highest standard
- Ensure all documentation and records are being maintained
- Work collaboratively with the operations and production team by providing support and assistance
- Actively participate in continuous improvement, delivering to the requirements outlined in the methodology and strengthening Quality and Food Safety Systems
- Ensure the use and success of structured root cause analysis after incidents relating to product quality, or the quality systems, have occurred. Put in place preventative measures to avoid the recurrence of defects
- Be responsible for the calibration and monitoring of on-line and off-line monitoring instruments used for measurement of quality parameters across the site
- Coordinate customer complaint investigations, working with cross-functional teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions and monitor outcomes
- Plan, conduct and report internal audits against SQF, GMP, HACCP and internal quality standards
- Support certification, customer and regulatory audits, including preparation, execution and close-out activities
- Deliver and support training programs relating to GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality systems and compliance requirements

About you

- A minimum of 5 years of successful experience in a quality-related role
- Prior experience working with SQF, FSANZ (Food Standards Australia New Zealand)

- In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Food Safety Programs, and internal auditing
- Experience in developing and implementing Corrective Action Plans (CAPs)
- Expertise in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for effective problem resolution
- Outstanding organizational and planning skills, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent time management, organizational skills, and exceptional attention to detail
- A comprehensive understanding of relevant standards, Codes of Practice, and statutory and legal requirements
- Experience in planning, executing, conducting, and closing out audits, including managing non-conformances
- Strong understanding of Australian Food Safety Legislation
