Job Summary

In this role, you will technically supervise the safety, health and environmental (ES&H;) compliance activities of the project by inspecting the field execution activities. You will assist the project and construction management in the implementation and compliance with the safety requirements of the project and in the resolution of ES&H; problems that arise during the execution of this.



You will work directly with other areas of the project (e.g. engineering, construction, subcontracts, procurement, project control, document control) to help them meet the applicable ES&H; requirements in their work activities and will perform daily site surveillance to verify proper use of PPE, routine equipment inspections and ES&H; project initiatives. The project requires excellent communication skills to develop a solid relationship and communication with stakeholders such as the customer, operations staff, contractors and the Bechtel team.

Major Responsibilities

- Coordinating a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H;) disciplines to facilitate implementation of Bechtel's ES&H; program and ES&H; Management System, including aiding compliance with Bechtel's ES&H; standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments.
- Assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities.
- Maintaining ES&H; databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions.
- Performing statistical analysis of ES&H; data to identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement and makes recommendations accordingly.
- Identifying and coordinating unique software systems and electronic innovation used by ES&H; personnel.
- Leading teams in conducting risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ES&H; issues.
- Preparing communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention.
- Coordinating incident notifications, leading investigations, and preparing incident investigation reports; recommending and implementing improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential.
- Participating in and may lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs, providing support to ES&H; field and office personnel, inclusive of all ES&H; disciplines.
