Child and Family Practitioner | Family Intervention Service | Cairns Employment Term: Permanent, Full-Time (38 hours per week) Location: Cairns Remuneration: From $53.43 per hour + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay) Close Date: Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and therefore may result in the role closing early if the right applicant is found.

Your part in our UnitingCare team
This role is responsible for providing services to vulnerable children, young people, and families within the Family Intervention Service (FIS), with an emphasis on delivering high-quality, best-practice services. This position provides: A holistic and therapeutic response to the needs of families and individuals, that are involved in the child protection system. Provide intensive support to help children and young people safely reunify with their families following out-of-home care, or work alongside parents under an Intervention with Parental Agreement to address child protection concerns and support children to remain safely at home. This is a home-based intervention role and includes case management responsibilities as well as therapeutic intervention skills.
What you'll bring
- A tertiary qualification (minimum of a bachelor's degree) in a relevant human services field, with relevant experience in previous roles.
- Registration with a nationally recognised professional body is desirable where relevant.
- Demonstrated skills and sound knowledge gained through experience working with children and families
- Be able to achieve results through personal proficiency and demonstrate high-quality technical or professional work
- Experience in the area of child protection is preferred but not essential
- Current Drivers Licence
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
