As the Principle Aboriginal Health Worker (PAHW), you will work collaboratively with healthcare service providers across the District to ensure Aboriginal people have appropriate access to healthcare. You will also provide education, preventative health awareness on chronic disease and other health related issues, with an added focus on improving the patient journey and outcomes for Aboriginal people within their communities.

- Valid NSW Drivers Licence Class C and ability and willingness to travel within the LHD for work purposes.
- Corroboration of Aboriginality and community
- Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent (applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW) and a demonstrated ability to effectively and sensitively liaise and communicate with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities and agencies.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a health promotion, public health, or clinical discipline, and preferably work-related experience.
This is a temporary leave relief position until 29 August 2027 with the possibility of extension.
