Our Subdivision and Development Certification Team has an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced professional to join the Team as an Engineering Coordinator. As the Engineering Coordinator, you will lead the assessment of development applications and post-consent approvals while providing expert engineering advice that supports sustainable growth across The Hills Shire. You will mentor team members, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and help deliver high-quality public infrastructure outcomes.

What you will be doing:
- Lead the assessment and management of development applications, providing expert engineering advice, technical reports, and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Review and coordinate post-consent approvals, including subdivision works certificates, subdivision certificates, compliance certificates, and associated development engineering matters.
- Provide specialist engineering input into strategic planning initiatives, greenfield developments, urban renewal projects, and public infrastructure outcomes.
- Coordinate and facilitate pre-lodgement meetings, stakeholder consultations, conciliation conferences, and court-related matters, delivering clear and practical engineering advice.
- Act as Principal Certifier for public infrastructure, driveway and stormwater works, supporting inspections and ensuring compliance with legislative and Council requirements.
- Lead, mentor and coach team members, fostering a proactive,
collaborative and solutions-focused culture while supporting performance and professional development.
- Drive continuous improvement by improving procedures, coordinating projects and key initiatives, whilst implementing systems that enhance business performance and service delivery
What are we seeking in our new team member:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or equivalent degree
- 7+ years of related industry experience
- White Card - General Construction Induction
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- High level knowledge of engineering principals and ability to review plans against Australian Standards, Design and Construction Specifications and provide practical solutions.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and community engagement skills with demonstrated conflict resolution and customer service skills to liaise with all levels of internal and external stakeholders

A salary of $128K per annum (plus Superannuation) + Car Allowance $15,191 + 3.5% Civil Liability allowance per annum, paid weekly. Opportunities for training to keep your skills up to date.
