Canyon Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist, Certified to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care to a diverse patient population in an acute care hospital setting. As a key member of the clinical team, you will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and deliver a full range of therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory services in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
The Respiratory Therapist, Certified will administer oxygen therapy, bronchodilator and nebulizer treatments, and perform chest physiotherapy and airway clearance techniques. You will manage ventilators and other advanced respiratory support equipment, assist with artificial airway care, and obtain and analyze arterial blood gases to guide clinical decision-making. You will also conduct pulmonary function and other bedside respiratory tests as appropriate, accurately documenting all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record.
Working within Canyon Vista Medical Center’s supportive, community-focused culture, you will participate in emergency responses, including rapid response and code blue situations, providing critical respiratory support during acute and life-threatening events. You will follow strict infection control and safety protocols, ensure respiratory equipment is properly set up, calibrated, and maintained, and promptly report and troubleshoot equipment issues to maintain safe and effective care.




Education and patient advocacy are central to this role. You will provide explicit instruction to patients and families on respiratory treatments, proper inhaler and device use, and disease management strategies for conditions such as COPD, asthma, and other cardiopulmonary disorders. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to support discharge planning and continuity of care, helping patients transition safely from hospital to home or other care settings.
