Enhanced Pupil Support Assistant (Fixed Term until 17 August 2027) - PKC14118

£18,162 - £19,759 (26.5 Hours per week, Term-time only)

We are looking for a committed and compassionate Enhanced Pupil Support Assistant to join Perth Grammar School and support young people with a range of complex additional support needs (ASN). This role sits within our Intensive Support Provision, working closely with teaching staff to help pupils access learning, develop independence, and thrive socially and emotionally.

You will play a key part in delivering high-quality support to pupils, helping them engage meaningfully with the curriculum and school life.

Your work will involve supporting pupils in class, in small groups, and 1:1, as well as at social times and during transitions.

You will model and promote our school values of Pride, Respect and Ambition in everything you do.

As an Enhanced Pupil support Assistant your role may include:

- Taking responsibility for aspects of support for pupils in class and/or group settings e.g. reading and scribing, symbol timetable.
- Taking forward individual programmes e.g. physio exercises, motor skills and mobility training.
- Carrying out intimate care routines, assist colleagues to become familiar with routines; moving and handling including CALM intervention.
- Preparing materials for individual pupils e.g. Boardmaker, TEACCH materials.
- Contributing to quality assurance and self-evaluation processes.
- Supporting positive behaviour strategies and contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs)



and Child’s Plans.

Skills & Experience Required

What We’re Looking For

- Experience (paid or voluntary) working with children/young people with ASN.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach.
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- Commitment to our school values: Pride, Respect, Ambition.
- Willingness to undertake intimate care and medical-related training (e.g. epilepsy and first aid).

Experience with ICT, moving & handling, and behaviour support is desirable but not essential.
