Aboriginal Health Clinician - New Street

About the role

New Street Services provide therapeutic services for children and young people aged 10 to 17 years who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours towards others and their families by assisting the young person to understand, acknowledge, take responsibility for and cease the harmful sexual behaviour.

In this role, you will be involved community development and capacity building with local Aboriginal communities in order to best facilitate culturally safe and effective care. In this role you will serve as a cultural liaison between New Street in Western, local communities and other government and non-government agencies.

The role is very well supported, starting with a 3-month orientation and training before you go into practice, ongoing clinical supervision and consultation from a senior Clinical Advisor from The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network and regular support through networking meetings. Personalised professional develop plans will be implemented that will provide additional opportunities for clinical progression in accordance with your current experience.

This role will be part of the broader Child, Youth & Families Division and integrated into the Local Health District's Violence,



Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) service stream.
