We manufacture precision components and assemblies for air, land and sea applications using modern CNC equipment, 5 axis machining and automation.
Key responsibilities
- Program, set and operate CNC milling machines or CNC Lathes
- Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings
- Complete machine setups, tooling and work holding
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Set and adjust tool and work offsets
- Inspect components using precision measuring equipment
- Select and manage cutting tools
- Troubleshoot machining issues
- Improve machining processes where possible
- Machine a variety of prototype, complex and repeat production components
About you
- Experience with CNC milling or CNC turning
- Experience setting CNC machines
- Confidence reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Good understanding of tolerances and precision measurement
- Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds and feeds
- Confidence using precision measuring and inspection equipment
- Solid mechanical aptitude
- Good problem solving ability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to undergo a police check and pre employment medical assessment
Desirable skills
- Experience with HEIDENHAIN, FANUC or Okuma controls
- Trade qualification in Fitting & Turning (or equivalent).
- Multi axis or 5 axis machining experience
- CNC programming experience
- Knowledge of Mastercam
These skills are advantageous but not essential.
