Your next career opportunity

In this Indigenous-identified role, you will lead and coordinate student-focused programs that centre First Peoples perspectives and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student success. You will be the key contact for First Peoples student initiatives across the Faculty of Business and Economics and Melbourne Business School, partnering with teams such as Student Belonging, Dilin Duwa, the Mabo Centre and Murrup Barak. This position is open only to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.

What you will deliver

- Lead planning, coordination and delivery of key First Peoples initiatives in partnership with the Associate Dean (Indigenous).
- Build, maintain and influence relationships with internal and external partners to align First Peoples programs.
- Design and deliver First Peoples student experience initiatives with Student Belonging, embedding cultural safety and inclusion.
- Manage end-to-end First Peoples student-focused projects, including planning, implementation, evaluation, reporting and risk management.
- Coordinate flagship programs such as the National Indigenous Business Summer School when hosted by the University.

- Hold a relevant degree or bring an equivalent combination of education, training and lived experience.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of First Peoples cultures and education participation priorities.
- Offer proven experience delivering student support services and tracking student progress and outcomes.
- Manage competing priorities effectively, coordinating multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in dynamic environments.
- Communicate confidently with First Peoples students and diverse stakeholders, showing cultural sensitivity and respect.
- Use office software and administrative systems confidently, and quickly learn new platforms and university systems.

Your new team – Faculty of Business and Economics

You will join the Strategy, Planning and Resources team in the Faculty of Business and Economics, working closely with the Associate Dean (Indigenous) and colleagues across FBE and Melbourne Business School. The team partners with academic and professional areas to align strategy, resources and student experience, with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion. You will collaborate with units such as Dilin Duwa, the Mabo Centre and Murrup Barak to create culturally safe, impactful programs for First Peoples students.
