Join the People & Payroll team at Salter Brothers Hospitality as a People Partner on a 12-month maternity leave contract.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced People Partner to play a key role in supporting our property teams and leaders. Based within our Central Services office in Fortitude Valley, you will work closely with operational leaders and the broader People & Payroll team to provide trusted advice, support organisational initiatives, and contribute to a positive and high-performing culture.

The role and key duties

- Provide trusted advice and ongoing support to team members and leaders on people-related matters, policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
- Prepare employment contracts, employment variations, VEVO checks, and associated employment documentation.
- Support the management of WorkCover claims and facilitate effective return-to-work programs.




- Coach and support leaders through performance management processes, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Monitor changes to employment legislation, industrial instruments, and workplace relations matters to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.
- Prepare and analyse People metrics and reports, providing insights to key stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Support the implementation, review, and continuous improvement of People policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Provide administrative support across all aspects of the People function, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Contribute to People projects and organisational initiatives that support business growth and enhance the team member experience.

Essential criteria required to be considered

- Minimum of 2-years experience in a HR generalist or HR coordinator position, ideally from a Hotel / Hospitality environment;
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline is desired;
- Ability to make decisions and provide clear and accurate advice based on company policies and knowledge of current legislation;
- Demonstrated prior experience managing employment matters such as grievances, investigations and performance management;
- Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport at all levels within our business;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and professionalism.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
