DouglasShire Council is seeking an experienced and motivated leader to shape thefuture of its newly reformed Building Facilities function.

About the Role

As TeamLeader Building Facilities, you will provide operational leadership acrossCouncil's building facilities portfolio, leading a dedicated team andoverseeing maintenance, contractor management and capital works delivery.

Workingclosely with internal stakeholders, you will also drive operational planning,continuous improvement and the implementation of contemporary facilitiesmanagement practices to enhance service delivery and support Council'sstrategic objectives.

Position Objectives

- Provide operational leadership of Council's Building Facilitiesfunction, ensuring the protected, efficient and compliant delivery of maintenance,contractor management, capital works and facilities services across a diversebuilding portfolio.
- Lead and develop the Building Facilities team, fostering accountability,collaboration and a strong customer service focus while effectively managingresources, budgets and contractor performance.
- Drive continuous improvement through effective operational planning,governance, risk management and the implementation of contemporary facilitiesmanagement practices, systems and processes.
- Support the ongoing development of the Building Facilities function bystrengthening operational capability, improving service delivery andcontributing to Council's long-term asset management objectives

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

- General Safety Induction (ConstructionIndustry) – White Card.
- Current Queensland C Class Driver'sLicence.
- Demonstrated experience leadingoperational teams, contractors and service delivery activities across multiplesites or assets.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitiesmanagement, building maintenance operations, infrastructure coordination or asimilar operational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to plan,prioritise, allocate and monitor operational workloads, maintenance programsand service delivery activities within a dynamic operational environment.
- Experience coordinating contractors,procurement activities, maintenance programs and operational service deliveryoutcomes.
- Well-developed knowledge of facilitiesmaintenance practices, contractor management, operational compliancerequirements and workplace health and safety obligations.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret andapply relevant legislation, Australian Standards, Council policies, proceduresand operational frameworks relevant to facilities management and maintenanceactivities.
- Demonstrated analytical,problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to resolveoperational issues and support service delivery outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to monitoroperational expenditure, contractor performance, purchase orders and invoicingprocesses within delegated authority.
- Strong organisational and timemanagement skills,



with the ability to manage competing priorities and achieveoperational deadlines.
- Experience using Microsoft Officeapplications and corporate systems for reporting, work management, procurementand operational coordination activities.
- Strong leadership, communication andinterpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively engage with staff,contractors, stakeholders and service providers.
- Demonstrated commitment to customerservice, continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of operationalperformance and compliance.
