You will work one-on-one and in small groups with people living with disability, supporting them to develop practical everyday skills. This is a hands-on role where you'll work alongside clients, teaching, encouraging and supporting them to do as much as possible for themselves.
Key responsibilities
Support clients to develop practical everyday skills including cooking simple, healthy and affordable meals
Assist with meal planning, shopping and budgeting
Provide food preparation and kitchen safety support
Support grocery shopping and help clients make healthy food choices
Assist with cleaning, laundry and household routines
Build confidence with everyday tasks
Support development of independence and decision-making skills
Facilitate community access and participation
Support clients to achieve their individual goals
Provide personal care and support where required
About you
Experience working as a Support Worker, Disability Support Worker, Carer or similar
Confident and capable home cook
Genuine passion for supporting people living with disability
Patient,
encouraging, respectful and non-judgemental
Reliable, organised and able to work independently
Comfortable supporting people with different abilities and needs
Able to think on your feet and adapt activities to suit individual clients
Confident supporting clients in their homes and within the community
Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
