Canobolas Kids Health

Orange

Lead Clinical Excellence. Develop Future Therapists. Continue Doing the Work You Love.

Canobolas Kids Health is a growing multidisciplinary allied health practice in Orange, NSW, providing evidence-based care to children and families across the Central West.

We're looking for an experienced paediatric Occupational Therapist (minimum 5 years' experience) who is passionate about clinical excellence, mentoring others, and helping shape the next generation of paediatric therapists.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your own clinical caseload with dedicated time to support clinician development, student education, clinical tutorials and quality improvement projects-all while working alongside our experienced OT Team Leader.

Rather than moving away from clinical work, this role allows you to expand your impact by helping others become exceptional clinicians.

About the Role

As our Clinical Mentor, you will continue to work with children and families while dedicating part of your week to supporting the development of our Occupational Therapy team.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing clinical mentoring and support to the occupational therapy team.
- Assisting clinicians with clinical reasoning, assessment and intervention planning.
- Supporting graduate and early-career Occupational Therapists as they develop confidence and capability.
- Coordinating and supporting Occupational Therapy student placements.
- Delivering regular clinical tutorials, case discussions and in-service education.
- Leading quality improvement and clinical resource development projects.
- Working collaboratively with the OT Team Leader to strengthen clinical excellence across the team.

- Continuing to build and manage your own rewarding paediatric caseload.

This role is focused on clinical leadership rather than operational management, allowing you to influence the quality of care delivered across the practice while remaining closely connected to clinical work.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

- Loves working with children and families.
- Is passionate about helping other clinicians grow.
- Enjoys teaching, mentoring and sharing knowledge.
- Values evidence-based practice and lifelong learning.
- Wants to make a broader impact than through their own caseload alone.

You will also have:

- A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current AHPRA registration.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- A minimum of five years' experience in paediatric Occupational Therapy.
- Experience working with children from birth to 18 years across a variety of developmental presentations.
- Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills.
- Experience working with NDIS, private and Medicare clients.
- Experience supervising students or early-career clinicians (or a genuine interest in developing these skills).

Why Join Canobolas Kids Health?

At Canobolas Kids Health, we believe great clinicians deserve great career pathways.

We are committed to developing leaders in clinical excellence, education and mentorship.

As part of our team, you'll enjoy:

- A dedicated Clinical Mentor role with protected non-clinical time.
- Regular mentoring with our experienced OT Team Leader.
- Opportunities to mentor students and early-career clinicians.
- Dedicated time for clinical tutorials, education and quality improvement projects.
- A varied caseload with opportunities to pursue your areas of clinical interest.
- A collaborative multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and in-house Psychologists.
- Fortnightly clinical education and case discussions.
- A professional development allowance of $1,500 per year.
- Access to Rural Doctors Network career development grants of up to $10,000 per year (eligibility criteria apply).
- Dedicated administration support and protected non-clinical time each week.
- Parent and maternity leave schemes that support family life and wellbeing.
- Clear career pathways that can evolve with your goals, whether your passion lies in clinical expertise, mentoring or future leadership opportunities.
