CQ Crane Hire is seeking an experienced Crane Truck Semi Driver to join our team in Rockhampton, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the safe and efficient delivery of our crane hire services to clients across the region. As a Crane Truck Semi Driver, you will be responsible for operating and manoeuvring heavy crane-equipped vehicles to transport specialised equipment and materials to job sites. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for reliability, safety and professional service delivery.
Key responsibilities
Operate and manoeuvre crane truck semi-trailers safely and in accordance with all relevant legislation and company policies
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the crane truck is in safe working order
Transport crane equipment and loads to designated job sites within agreed timeframes
Assist with positioning the crane truck at job sites and communicate effectively with ground crews and crane operators
Maintain accurate logbooks, vehicle maintenance records and delivery documentation
Comply with weight distribution regulations and load restraint requirements for safe transport
Communicate professional and courteously with clients and internal teams
Conduct minor maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle as required
Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to a positive safety culture on-site
What we're looking for
Current Heavy Rigid (HR) or Articulate (HC) Class Driver Licence valid in Queensland
Proven experience operating crane truck semi-trailers or similar heavy commercial vehicles
Comprehensive knowledge of road transport legislation, load restraint standards and protected work practices
Ability to accurately read and interpret load charts,
weight distribution requirements and delivery documentation
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with crane operators and site personnel
Excellent time management and organisational skills to meet delivery schedules
A commitment to safety and a solid track record of safe driving
Valid White Card (Construction Induction) preferred
Experience with GPS navigation systems and mobile communication devices
