There are growth roles where success is simply measured in revenue. This is not one of them.

Lives Lived Well is a significant not-for-profit organisation supporting people and communities across alcohol and other drugs, mental health, gambling and veterans' services.

With approximately 700 staff and an $84 million turnover, the organisation has grown considerably over the past decade. Much of that growth has been organic and opportunity-led.

The next chapter will be more deliberate. Lives Lived Well is creating the position of Chief Growth Officer to bring greater intent, commercial discipline and enterprise-wide coordination to how the organisation grows, which opportunities it pursues and how it protects its existing funding base.

Reporting to the CEO and joining the Executive Team, you will bring together business development, external relations, marketing and communications, and the Project Management Office within a single Growth Directorate.

Your job is not growth at any cost. It is to create sustainable, values-led growth that allows Lives Lived Well to reach more people, protect important services and remain strong for the long term.

The prospect Lives Lived Well already has scale, a strong reputation, established sector relationships and a workforce deeply connected to purpose.

Your mandate is to bring greater sophistication and discipline to what comes next.

You will build a visible, qualified and actively managed pipeline, strengthen the approach to tenders and commissioning opportunities, protect and renew existing funding, deepen strategic relationships and establish a clearer framework for assessing partnerships and potential acquisitions.

You will also help the organisation think beyond traditional funding models, ensuring every opportunity has a sound commercial case and remains aligned to purpose.

Success will include:

- Building a credible, prioritised and measurable growth pipeline that delivers meaningful new revenue.
- Strengthening the retention and renewal of a significant portfolio of funded services.
- Bringing greater discipline to partnerships, tenders, investment decisions and potential M&A.;
- Using brand, communications, data and technology as genuine enablers of growth.
- Improving prioritisation, governance and execution across the enterprise portfolio.
- Building a Growth Directorate that is commercially capable, collaborative and connected to the organisation.

Who will succeed here?

We are looking for a genuine growth executive — but probably not the stereotypical one. You will be commercially sharp, externally oriented and comfortable being accountable for revenue and results. You understand pipelines, long sales cycles, business cases, tendering, partnerships and investment decisions. Equally, you understand that in a purpose-led organisation, how you grow matters as much as how quickly you grow.

A career combining commercial and not-for-profit, health or human services experience would be particularly compelling.

You will ideally bring:

- Executive-level success in business development, market growth or an equivalent commercially focused portfolio.
- Experience within government-funded human services, health or an adjacent sector.
- A record of winning, retaining and expanding significant contracts or funded services.
- Experience developing strategic partnerships, consortia and potentially mergers or acquisitions.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to distinguish an attractive opportunity from the right opportunity.
- The credibility to engage with Boards, government, funders, sector leaders and senior executives.
- An appreciation of marketing, brand and communications as drivers of growth and influence.
- Technological curiosity and a practical understanding of CRM, automation, data, digital channels and AI.

The how Lives Lived Well enjoys a highly engaged workforce that cares deeply about the work it does.

Commercial credibility alone will not make for success. You will know when to push, when to listen and how to adapt your style from the Boardroom to the frontline. You will bring people with you, building confidence that greater commercial discipline strengthens rather than compromises the organisation's purpose.

Above all, you will believe in — and have demonstrated — a simple equation: A stronger, more sustainable organisation can help more people.

Ready to make growth mean more? If you believe commercial discipline and social purpose can — and should — reinforce one another, we would welcome the opportunity to hear from you.
