What Works Global

Eton

This is a secondment role. You'll be part of the What Works team but embedded directly with one of our clients in the education and training sector, acting as their in-house Social Media Marketer & Content Creator. You get the best of both worlds: the direction from our team, tools and creative backing of a fast-moving agency, and the ownership of running content and social for a single client you'll come to know inside out.

Your core strength is creating content and running social. You live on the platforms, you know what stops the scroll, and you can turn a rough idea into a post, a reel, or a short video that actually lands. That instinct is what we're hiring for.

Along the way you'll pick up design, website editing and broader campaign work. You don't need to arrive as an expert in all of it; if you've got the eye and the drive, we'll build the rest of the toolkit with you. Strategy and creative direction will be set by What Works' Creative and Marketing Directors alongside the client, and you'll collaborate with both our creative and marketing teams to bring ideas to life. There's real room to grow into a Content Producer or broader marketing role over time.

Key responsibilities

Plan, create and publish content across social channels - graphics, photos, short-form video and captions.

Own the content calendar, scheduling and community engagement.

Capture content on the ground at events - open days, career expos, industry showcases and graduations.

Design on-brand assets for social, campaigns and events (we'll grow your design skills where needed).

Make website content edits and updates to keep everything current and consistent.

Support marketing campaigns admin and paid social across Meta, and help out across Google, LinkedIn and YouTube.

Stay on top of trends, formats and platform changes, and bring fresh ideas to the table.

Manage your own timelines and priorities, delivering quality work without needing to be micromanaged.

About you

A genuine feel for social and content and a portfolio, reel or samples that show what you've made.

Confidence creating content end-to-end: shooting, editing, and putting together easy graphics.

Strong fluency across social platforms and a real understanding of what performs and why.

A willingness to learn design, website editing and marketing skills you'll pick up on the job.

Well organised and self-directed, comfortable juggling multiple projects and deadlines.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to take direction from senior teams and clients.

A satisfactory National Police Check, valid Working with Children Check, and current Driver's Licence (or the ability to obtain them).

Nice to have: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects), video editing experience, CMS/website editing (e.g. WordPress), SEO and Google Analytics know-how, and experience in the Vocational Education & Training (VET) or RTO sector.

A qualification in Marketing, Communications, Media Production or a related field is a bonus but not a dealbreaker.
