Key duties
- Assisting welders, boilermakers and fabricators with daily workshop tasks
- Moving, loading and unloading steel, materials and finished products
- Cutting, grinding and preparing steel components as required
- Assisting with measuring, marking and positioning steel
- Using hand and power tools under instruction
- Cleaning, grinding and preparing weld areas
- Assisting with drilling, punching and general steel preparation
- Packing and organizing fabricated steel for delivery
- Keeping the workshop clean, tidy and free from hazards
