General Building Cleaner / Caretaker – Mactaggarts Place, Teneriffe

We are seeking a reliable, physically fit and practical General Building Cleaner / Caretaker to assist with the day-to-day upkeep of Mactaggarts Place, a large heritage residential and short-term accommodation complex in Teneriffe.

This is a hands-on role working approximately 3–4 hours per day, 3–5 days per week. If you prefer to work under your own ABN, this can be accommodated.

Duties will include:

- Completing prescribed daily and weekly cleaning and caretaking tasks
- Cleaning common areas across three levels of the building
- Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors
- Cleaning entrances, stairwells, courtyards and other communal areas
- Using equipment including blower vacs and pressure washers
- Carrying out basic handyman and general maintenance tasks
- Using basic hand tools for minor repairs and maintenance
- Identifying and reporting maintenance issues
- Maintaining the property to a consistently high standard of cleanliness and presentation

This is a physically active role, involving regular use of stairs, lifting, cleaning and outdoor work.



Applicants will need to be physically fit and comfortable working independently.

You will report directly to the business owners, so we are looking for someone dependable, proactive and able to take responsibility for completing an established daily and weekly task schedule.

Previous experience in commercial cleaning, building caretaking, property maintenance or handyman work would be highly regarded.

Mactaggarts Place is growing its onsite short-term accommodation business. As this expands, for the right candidate, this position has the potential to develop into a full-time role over the coming months.

Location: Teneriffe, Brisbane
Hours: Approximately 3–4 hours per day
Days: 3–5 days per week
Employment: Part time/casual initially

This role would suit someone who enjoys active, practical work, can work without constant supervision and takes genuine pride in keeping a property clean, tidy and well maintained.
