Clinical Nurse - Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)

As a Clinical Nurse - ECMO, you will provide advanced clinical, problem-solving, planning and coordination skills in the management of complex Intensive Care ECMO patients. Working autonomously within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist nursing care and clinical leadership across practice, education and research.

You will:

- Deliver expert, person-centred nursing care to complex Intensive Care and ECMO patients.
- Provide clinical leadership, support and direction to the healthcare team, including delegation, mentoring and education.
- Contribute to ECMO service development, quality improvement, research and portfolio responsibilities, including ECMO databases and ECMO Retrieval support.

About you

You are an experienced critical care nurse with advanced clinical knowledge and demonstrated expertise in ECMO nursing. You bring strong clinical judgement, problem-solving and leadership skills, together with a commitment to evidence-based practice, education and continuous improvement.

You will bring

- Mandatory experience caring for ECMO patients and completion of ECMO competency.
- Advanced Intensive Care and ECMO clinical skills, with the ability to manage complex patient care and provide effective clinical leadership.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a protected clinical environment.
