Reporting to the Associate Director, this role is part of a multi-disciplined team responsible for providing sound technical design support on mechanical or electrical engineering disciplines, to ensure project requirements and clients’ specifications are fully met.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compile specifications, drawings and relevant contract documents as per client/project requirements.
- Maintain the required technical quality of work, ensuring that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures.
- Contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary design team to ensure successful preparation and delivery on project objectives, including providing technical support.
- Provide information to build budgets for clients based on their specifications.
- Liaise with the Client and external design teams as necessary for the successful delivery of projects.
- Contribute to the development and growth of the company by identifying new opportunities and potential areas for growth and also maintaining and developing existing client relationships.
- Provide electrical or mechanical engineering services design for buildings and infrastructure.
- Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process,
maintain planning and cost control on all scopes.
- Other reasonable duties as appropriate.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Chartered status or membership with Engineers Australia, CIBSE, IET, or similar professional body preferred.
- Proven experience in electrical building services design within a consulting engineering workplace.
- Strong experience delivering mission critical and/or data centre projects.
- Solid understanding of LV/HV power distribution, UPS systems, generators, and critical electrical infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC, and relevant electrical codes and regulations.
- Proficient in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Cymap, ETAP, or PowerCAD.
- Experience producing design calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
- Ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
