About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused General Practitioner (GP) to join our established specialist cardiology practice, providing medical supervision for Exercise Stress Echocardiography (Stress Echo) testing.
This is an excellent opportunity for a GP with an interest in cardiovascular medicine to work within a highly experienced cardiac diagnostic team, alongside Cardiac Technicians, Cardiac Sonographers, Nurses and Cardiologists.
The GP's primary role is to provide medical oversight throughout the exercise component of Stress Echo testing, including assessing patient suitability, monitoring clinical status and responding to any symptoms, ECG changes or other clinical events that may arise.
The echocardiographic imaging and technical components of the examination are performed by experienced cardiac sonographers and technical staff.
You will also have direct access to Cardiologist support when required.
Previous Stress Echo experience is advantageous but not essential, with appropriate orientation and training available for suitable applicants.

- Minimal administrative burden compared with traditional general practice.
- No routine general practice consulting or ongoing patient management responsibilities associated with the role.
- Prospect to develop practical experience in cardiovascular diagnostics.
- Supportive, collegial and multidisciplinary working environment.
- Orientation and training in Stress Echo procedures for suitable applicants without previous Stress Echo experience.
- Opportunities to further develop skills across other areas of cardiac diagnostic testing.

- An interest in cardiovascular medicine.
- Experience interpreting ECGs.
- Experience recognising exercise-induced arrhythmias, ischaemic ECG changes and abnormal haemodynamic responses.
