The Opportunity
Davies Stewart are partnering with a local council in the Adelaide Hills who is experiencing rapid growth, making the ongoing maintenance and development of its civil infrastructure more critical than ever. Operating within the Infrastructure & Environment Department’s Operations team, the Team Member (Civil) position is a key hands-on role dedicated to keeping local roads, stormwater systems, and community assets operating to high safety and quality standards.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Team Leader Civil, you will execute a broad range of general and specialized civil maintenance duties to guarantee public safety and amenity across the district.
- Execute general maintenance across sealed and unsealed roads, including kerbing, footpaths, street cleaning, traffic signage, and associated civil assets.
- Perform essential maintenance and repair work on local drainage and stormwater systems to support environmental and community resilience.
- Safely operate a diverse range of civil construction machinery—such as front-end loaders, backhoes, rollers, graders, skid steer loaders, excavators, water trucks, and street sweepers.
- Strictly execute tasks using internal safety frameworks, including Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
- Act as a quality first point of contact in the field, representing Mount Barker's customer and solutions-driven focus.
- Support council-led emergency management planning and incident responses as required.
About You
You are an experienced civil construction qualified who pairs technical plant competency with a collaborative, resilient work ethic and a deep dedication to workplace safety.
- A nationally recognised Certificate III in Civil Construction or a relevant field is highly desirable.
- Hold a current HR Truck Licence (HC licence advantageous), an unrestricted motor vehicle driver’s licence, and a valid Construction Industry White Card.
- Hold a current Workzone Traffic Management certification (or display a willingness to obtain it).
- Extensively demonstrated experience in the civil construction industry, backed by practical competency or tickets in operating heavy plant machinery.
- The capacity to perform physical tasks for prolonged periods—such as walking, digging, shovelling, and lifting—in alignment with WHS standards.
- Absolute readiness to satisfy a mandatory National Police Clearance and a comprehensive Functional Capacity Assessment, including medical, drug, and alcohol screening.
