About the role:
TAFE QLD are currently rolling out cutting edge Virtuality Reality capability to enable learning opportunities across the curriculum. This will be achieved by implementation of VR capability at 15 “XR Hubs” and 3 XR enabled campuses across Queensland. To support the roll out of the technology, the upskilling of educators and embedding of the capability into the TAFE QLD environment, we are seeking an Immersive Technology Enablement and Support Analyst
As the Immersive Technology Enablement and Support Analyst, you will help enable staff adoption of immersive technologies through training and development of procedures and guidelines. Experience with Virtual Reality hardware and software is not required, however a background as a technology educator will be beneficial.
Responsibilities:
Work with educators across TAFE QLD to support the adoption of new and existing immersive technologies, inspiring use in educational delivery and providing end user training to ensure a good technical understanding and user confidence.
Develop relationships with XR technical champions and end users to gain understanding of their operational needs and provide them with relevant and meaningful advice.
Prepare guidelines, procedures, surveys, design specifications and status reports, and ensure documentation is completed for testing, security assessments and that identified risks are controlled.
Support the implementation of new and existing immersive technologies,
inspiring use in educational delivery and providing end user training to ensure a valuable technical understanding and user confidence.
Develop relationships with XR technical champions and end users to gain understanding of their operational needs and provide them with relevant and meaningful advice.
Prepare guidelines, procedures, surveys, design specifications and status reports, and ensure documentation is completed for testing, security assessments and that identified risks are controlled.
Provide coordination for the resolution of technical issues associated with immersive technology systems and/or applications.
Work with external and internal developers and stakeholders to provide end user testing and feedback on VR/XR experiences to ensure software that is delivered is free of technical bugs and meets specifications.
Experience
Extensive experience as an educator in digital technologies
Ability to regularly travel to site to engage with stakeholders
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to clearly communicate to a non-technical audience, including preparing engaging and informative training sessions.
Demonstrated strong self-management skills with the ability to independently schedule travel, manage time effectively, and coordinate logistics to support business needs.
Previous experience in documenting immersive hardware, systems, applications and associated platforms.
Technical understanding or the ability to acquire technical understanding in the operation and configuration of VR or AR headsets.
