Our client is seeking Medical Officers with in-charge night experience to join their busy regional referral Emergency Department, redeveloped through a multimillion-dollar investment. THE POSITION

Working at a senior level within this collaborative, specialist-led Emergency team, you will provide high-quality emergency care across a broad range of adult and paediatric presentations.

The role offers increasing clinical autonomy while maintaining excellent senior support, including opportunities to lead patient management during after-hours shifts, and to further develop advanced decision-making, resuscitation and trauma management skills.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Emergency Department sees more than 40,000 presentations annually. As part of an over $200 million redevelopment, the department has doubled its capacity, now offering an expanded range of treatment spaces, including a dedicated paediatric emergency area and additional short-stay and flexible-use beds. Purpose-built imaging facilities, including CT, ultrasound and X-ray, are located adjacent to the department, supporting timely assessment and patient care.

Doctors gain broad exposure to a diverse, high-acuity case mix, including acute medical and surgical presentations, major trauma, paediatric emergencies, mental health presentations and critical care. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, they benefit from close senior supervision, regular teaching and solid clinical mentorship, providing an excellent environment for ongoing Emergency Medicine training and professional development.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- To be successful in this role you must hold an MBBS or equivalent and be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- AMC candidates welcome
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to take primary responsibility for patient management, including during after-hours and overnight shifts
- Demonstrated practice within scope, with appropriate escalation to senior staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues
- High level of motivation and professionalism
